Multiprotocol instant messaging application - A multiprotocol instant messaging application is software which allows one instant messaging client to connect to multiple IM networks, such as AOL Instant Messenger or MSN Messenger.
TOC protocol - The TOC protocol or the Talk to OSCAR protocol was a legacy communications protocol used by some third-party AOL Instant Messenger clients, and several clients AOL produced but has abandoned. Sometime near August 19 2005 AOL discontinued support for the protocol and no longer uses the it in any of the IM clients it actively maintains, such as its Windows and Mac clients for the AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ systems.
AIM+ - AIM+ is a free third-party add-on for AOL Instant Messenger created by Big-O Software. Some special features include conversation logging, ad removal, cloning (which allows more than one instance of AOL Instant Messenger simultaneously), hotkeys, and transparency.
